The Journal for New Generation Sciences (ISSN 1684-4998) is a biannual interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary journal with two editions per annum. As a scholarly journal, the Journal for New Generation Sciences contains the views, thoughts, research results, inventions, discoveries, information and conclusions of its contributing authors. The information expressed is solely that of the respective authors and does not necessarily reflect that of the Journal for New Generation Sciences or the Central University of Technology, Free State. The JNGS disclaims any and all responsibility or liability resulting from the views, thoughts, discoveries, information and conclusions contained in the Journal.
The JNGS is a Department of Higher Education accredited research journal. It publishes national and international articles and showcases the university’s contribution to knowledge creation.
The JNGS focuses on papers that reflect the scientific results of:
- Science, Engineering and Technology (SET), and the management of SET research;
- Applied research informed by industry/business problems;
- Partnerships with industry/business/government (triple helix);
- Knowledge production in the context of Mode 2 knowledge generation;
- Scholarship in teaching and research;
- Research projects leading to SET qualifications;
- Income generation through research; and
- Entrepreneurship through innovation.
All papers are peer-reviewed by at least two experts. An editorial review secures the quality of papers. The JNGS supports both high-quality scholarly work of established researchers, and capacity building amongst new researchers.
On a national policy level, the JNGS supports the National Plan on Higher Education, Outcome 13: Research concentration and funding linked to research outputs.
