Focus & Scope
The Journal of Geography Education in Africa - JoGEA (eISSN 2788-9114) is an accredited, open-access, double-blinded peer-reviewed international journal. The scope of the journal is that it is concerned with the theory, practice and communication of new research in Geography, Environmental and Sustainable Development Education and related fields, with a specific geographical focus on Africa and the developing world. JoGEA is the journal of the Southern African Geography Teachers' Association (SAGTA - NPC: 2017/035104/08).
The specific objectives of the journal are:
- To encourage the continued professional growth and support of educators and researchers in the fields of Geography, Environmental and Sustainable Development, as well as supporting and encouraging teaching and research scholarship in these fields at all levels.
- To build the importance of Geography as a globally relevant subject within schools, universities and other training institutions.
- To promote African scholarship.
